Company Background

About Root802

Root802 is one of Vermont's newest web development firms — but our roots go deep.

Our company was founded in 2022 by Craig Bailey and Scott Jeter — two long-time Chittenden County residents of who have 55 combined years of experience building state-of-the-art websites that perform.

After years working for other web shops, we made a fresh start in May '22 with Root802 — a new company that truly puts the client first. Where the customers' needs dictate the toolset — not the other way around. Where virtually nothing is off the table. Where the question is rarely “Why?” and more-often, “Why not?” And where the goal is to realize the incredible potential of the Internet by redefining what the web can do.

Craig Bailey

Co-owner / Developer

Craig is an early-adaptor. He got his first taste of interconnected computers in his college dorm room in 1986 logging into Quantum Link, a predecessor of America Online. And he was immediately hooked. After a few years out of college working in radio, by the mid-'90s he was focused on building websites and learning all he could about the burgeoning Internet scene.

How we work

No two website projects are identical. But here's a general overview of how Root802 goes about business:

Consultation

Regardless of the type of work you might have in mind, we'll always start out with a call or meeting to learn about your project and to answer any questions. The first consultation is, naturally, complimentary.

Discovery & research

Once we understand enough about your project to know your goals, we'll begin to do some research — exploring the state of your existing website, if you have one; or looking into web presences of other companies in your sector to try and get a lay of the land.

Memorandum of Agreement (MOA)

By the time we've completed the discovery and research phase — or perhaps before, if both parties are amenable — Root802 will better formalize wishes to work together with you by drafting a simple Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).

Estimate

Root802 can gladly provide you a cost estimate for your project along with a scope of work detailing what we understand the work will entail. This can be an iterative process: If need be, we'll revise the estimate until both sides agree the scope of work if an accurate reflection of the project, and one that fits within your budget.
