Root802 offers more than just hosting. Our managed services package offers you piece-of-mind that your mission-critical website has the tools to succeed.
Root802 hosts websites we develop in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud. Controlling the web server gives us the power to create, maintain and monitor your website in ways unparalleled by other web shops that might not be involved in hosting.
Disaster Recovery / Back-ups
You've heard it time and time again: If it's important, back it up. And if it's not important? Back it up anyway. Root802 not only manages the hosting of your website, but performs automated backups of all of your website files and data each day to safeguard against disaster.
24/7 Monitoring
Because the web never rests, Root802 monitors your site's up-time status 24/7.
Security
Security is the highest priority for Root802.
All Root802 servers are protected by state-of-the-art firewalls, use robust passwords, transfer data using HTTPS, and encrypt sensitive data before storing it.
AWS data centers and network architecture are built to meet the requirements of the most security-sensitive organizations; and third-party auditors regularly test and verify this.
The AWS security scheme consists of four (4) layers:
-
Perimeter Layer
Physical security begins here: Security guards, fencing, security feeds, intrusion detection technology and more. -
Infrastructure Layer
This consists of the data center building and the equipment and systems that keep it running: Back-up power systems, HVAC and fire suppression equipment. -
Data Layer
This is the only area that holds customer data, so is the most critical point of protection. It begins by restricting access and maintaining a separation of privilege for each layer. AWS also deploys threat detection devices and system protocols on this layer. -
Environmental Layer
Environmental considerations from site selection and construction to operations and sustainability comprise this layer. AWS selects data center locations to mitigate risks such as flooding, extreme weather and seismic activity.
